New Director of Airport Commercial Development joins YSJ Leadership Team
New role is pivotal to supporting airport’s growth strategy

SAINT JOHN, NB – The Saint John Airport has announced the appointment of Jacques Fournier as its new director of airport commercial development. Mr. Fournier has more than 18 years of experience in the aviation industry.
In step with recent enhancements to the passenger experience at the Saint John Airport, this new role will support the airport’s growth strategy. As previous Director of Airport Commercial Development for the Greater Moncton International Airport, Fournier helped generate $18 million in new revenue. He was also responsible for striking a partnership with NewLeaf Travel, securing additional flights to major hubs like Toronto and Montreal, and bringing in six new cargo companies. Fournier is a member of the Moncton Transportation Club Board of Directors.

We’re so pleased to have him as part of our team, and we look forward working with him on new funding opportunities, and major capital projects that will enhance air service opportunities for the New Brunswick travelling community,” said Derrick Stanford, the airport’s President and CEO.
Fournier will be leading the airport’s development of new business and marketing and public relations programs. “I’m very much looking forward to working with the Saint John Airport team and supporting them in achieving their goals for the airport as well as supporting the economic and social development of Saint John and southwestern New Brunswick,” he said.
The role of business development manager is one of two strategic appointments that are expected for 2017. The second role, the Director of Finance, is still vacant.
Other recent airport advancements to support the Saint John Airport’s enhanced passenger experience include a duty-free shop, hotspot parking, upgraded Wi-Fi and a redesigned website.
The Saint John Airport Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation serving air travel needs of 300,000 residents of southwestern New Brunswick spanning from Sussex to the Fundy Isles, and is a key element in the economic and social development of the region. All revenue of the Saint John Airport is reinvested in operations and facilities on-site.
