Boil water order in place
The Saint John Airport is operating under a boil water order, airport officials confirmed today.
The airport’s water supply comes from Robertson Lake. It is treated and provided to the terminal building and all tenants on the airport property under an approval to operate issued by the provincial department environment and local government.
Signage has been posted to advise travellers and bottled water is available. All tenants and service providers, including the restaurant, are following boiling instructions set out by the provincial department of health. Impacts on the airport’s daily operations have been limited.
Saint John Airport personnel are working with the department of health.
The airport’s 2018 capital plan includes funding to study and design long-term capital investments to ensure the airport and its tenants have consistent access to safe, clean drinking water.
