MORE IMPROVEMENTS TO SERVE YOU BETTER
There is a lot of activity happening at the Saint John Airport as we grow to serve our Business & Leisure travellers better.
WELCOME AIR CANADA ROUGE
Beginning in late 2019, all Air Canada flights from YSJ to Toronto will be operated by Air Canada Rouge. With the introduction of Air Canada Rouge service travellers will enjoy: larger aircraft (Airbus A319), improved amenities such as entertainment systems, business-class service, shorter flight times, and a quieter cabin. Air Canada has been a valued partner for many years and their decision to enhance YSJ's current offering with bigger aircraft will mean more capacity — a 16% increase in available seats for our marketplace in 2020 compared to the previous year.
AIRFIELD MODERNIZATION PROJECT UPDATE
Construction is currently underway on our airfield with the bulk of the activity happening now through October 2019, but rest assured it is business as usual at YSJ. The Saint John Airport’s Airfield Modernization Project represents a $20.4 million investment and comprises the complete modernization and rehabilitation of the airport’s two runways, taxiways, and tarmac, as well as safety-related improvements such as high-intensity and energy-saving LED runway lighting, and installation of centerline lighting for the main runway. Estimated completion is November 2019. I encourage you to visit our website for more information. NEW YSJ DISPATCHES E-NEWSLETTER
We recently launched our new, quarterly newsletter, delivered directly to your in-box once every three months. It’s a great way to keep abreast of what’s happening at YSJ and learn more about our plans, priorities and progress. I invite you to sign up to receive our newsletter or download the latest newsletter from our website.
YSJ WEBSITE: NEW & IMPROVED TRAVELLER INFO
We recently updated our website with plenty of helpful TRAVELLER INFO for both Business and Leisure travellers. If you're looking for real-time arrival and departure updates, or information on parking, shopping, dining, or ground transportation options, you'll find it on our website.
Cannabis is now legal in Canada. If you use cannabis, I strongly encourage you to visit the CANNABIS page on our website to learn what you need to know about recreational cannabis on Saint John Airport property. When you are travelling within Canada, it is your responsibility to learn the laws of the province or territory you are going to, so we've also provided information on what passengers need to know about flying within Canada. Remember, flying across Canada’s International borders with cannabis, recreational or medicinal — remains illegal. Don’t take cannabis out of Canada. Don’t bring cannabis into Canada. No matter the quantity.
Be sure to visit our FAQs for answers to Frequently Asked Questions and helpful advice on: what to do if your luggage has been lost or delayed, questions about what you can bring on the plane, or who to contact if you have a complaint. The Saint John Airport is committed to delivering friendly, helpful service that exceeds our passengers’ expectations. So if you’re not 100% delighted with the services or amenities at the Saint John Airport terminal, we definitely want to hear about it.
